We're the Millers

We're the Millers... As the title & posters show the movie is lots of fun. The movie is perfect for 2 hours of dumb fun. There are some dirty jokes you can laugh out loud, keep in mind if you are an adult. I found it actually surprised that how funny the movie was. And no surprise that it is earning big at the box office...the movie deserves it.

Ok, the movie starts off with Jason Sudeikis who's still selling drugs for a career. He then takes a quite a crazy move to take a van full of drugs and sell them across to Mexico. For that he then creates a fake family to pose as he is going for a trip. Jennifer Aniston as a stripper , Will Poulter and Emma Roberts forms the family. On the way they care for each other in difficult situations, and end up as a family !.

On the performance side, the Jason Sudeikis character was the funniest I thought. He was hilarious as a drug dealer. Although Sudeikis doesn't have much experience being a leading character in a movie , with the help of great supporting casts he did really well.

Jennifer Aniston.. Hmm.. What can I say ! She chooses such roles these days. Not a long while ago, she was in a similar role in Horrible bosses. She too has some hilarious situations in the movie which she did pretty well. Saying that, I like to see her in more character roles rather than stripers, seducer.. Etc... Also, her face looks weird. Emma Roberts as Casey was pretty good. @ 22, she looked like a teenager. The boy also fits in well.

As for the writers, Kudos to them. For making a regular subject/plot such interesting with full of jokes. There was never a dull moment in the movie. Saying that, I think they should have started the movie a little faster. It was a bit slow for a comedy movie. After such a start, I never thought there was this much to laugh in the middle.

Ok so many pros.. Lets discuss through some cones. The one situation with nudity was totally uncalled for. And it was not funny. For that one scene, I would not recommend children watching this movie. They could have developed the story a little bit through the middle and at the end. It was too predictable at times. Who am i kidding !! The movie is meant for dumb fun and it delivers exactly that.

And one last thing, Make sure you stick around for the bloopers at the end... One such a scene right at the end will bring grin faces to all ''friends'' fans. Such a fitting way to end such a laughter ride.

Go for the Millers !!

Gippi

Always been a fan of coming of age, teen comedy flicks. Gippi was supposed to be such a movie. It has a good plot, but fails miserably in execution. Being produced by karan johar i've expected much from this teen flick. His latest directorial venture, student of the year was way better than this crap.

The movie takes you through some things that most girls face while growing up. Especially being a teenager in today's overly conscious, hyper world.
Not one thing that's can be called as good in the movie. Acting was par, direction average, screenplay pathetic. Didn't expected such a crap from a know production company in india.

In the perfomance section,Riya as Gurpreet kaur or Gippi was below par.also overacts sometimes.Doorva tripathi was quite good. Jayati Modi, another newcomer, did her part well as the main contender to Gippi. She was good as teasing girl.

Songs were better,as they included some of old classics in the mix.The one good thing is that, movie length is so short,it will be over very quickly. At the end, they showed bloopers from the movie, which i found the most enjoyable thing in the whole movie.

Disappointed. big time !

The Conjuring

I'm a big horror movies fan and the conjuring was one hell of a scary ride.Director james wan is the most talented directors now when it comes to scary movies. His last venture was also a scary ride [insidious]. I would say that this is his best work till date after insidious and SAW 1.

The movie is set in 1970's,the costumes and surroundings were apt for the mood.A decent creepy doll will always scare you, this movie is also revolve around a doll. The things that scare you in this movie are the subtle things and the ghosts are not revealed long enough to become not scary anymore and scenes where you think something is going to pop up nothing happens.

The story is same old,but the making is such, you wouldn't notice anything when you are in it. BGM was apt for the mood, mostly silent, which scares you the most !. Editing was top notch, which is the most important factor in a good scary movie. As i mentioned earlier, story is old fashioned and screenplay is a bit above par level. Direction is the one thing that stands out in the movie. James wan deserves full credit for the movie success.

Perfomance wise,i thought joey king as christine was the standout in the movie.
Vera farmiga was also very good, especially thorough climax sequences.

All others did their parts very well. No one was boring or annoying.

The one thing good about this movie is that it does not get disgusting at any point. Can watch it with family, not with kids though [lol].without having to show sex, gore, nudity, and say the F-word too much the movie scares you well.Yes, it is rated 'R' but can be viewed anytime !!

Go watch it with a decent headphone/earphone/headset. Will scare you for certain.

Definitely worth checking it out.
